Fig Mosaic

Caused by a complex of viruses spread primarily by the eriophyid fig mite, as well as through grafting and propagation of infected material.

There is no cure; infected plants remain infected for life, so management focuses on controlling the mite vector to slow further spread and maintaining plant vigor through good care.

Source new fig plants from certified virus-free stock, and control eriophyid mites with appropriate miticides or by removing heavily infested growth.
