Also called Monkey Puzzle Tree, this striking South American conifer features distinctive whorled, spiky bright green needles and a columnar form reaching 40–80 feet. A slow-growing, long-lived species (300+ years) prized as a specimen ornamental for its unusual appearance and architectural structure. Native to the Andes mountains, it requires cool conditions and excellent drainage.
