Commonly known as daylily, this species produces delicate, fragrant yellow trumpet-shaped flowers that open in morning and close by evening. Growing 2–3 feet tall, it forms spreading clumps and blooms reliably over several weeks in late spring to early summer. Daylilies are exceptionally low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, and adaptable to many growing conditions.
