Zamioculcas zamiifolia 'Raven'

houseplant

ZZ Raven is a striking cultivar of ZZ plant featuring deep burgundy to nearly black foliage that creates dramatic visual impact in any indoor space. This extremely low-maintenance houseplant stores water in underground rhizomes, making it exceptionally drought-tolerant and perfect for busy plant parents or offices. It grows slowly and can reach 2–3 feet tall, thriving in a wide range of light and moisture conditions.

Light
Tolerates low to bright indirect light. Performs well in office environments with fluorescent lighting. Higher light intensifies the dark coloration of foliage.
water_drop
Water
Water sparingly; allow soil to dry completely between waterings. In low light, water only once monthly. ZZ Raven prefers drought over moisture and rarely needs supplemental water.
compost
Soil
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix, or amend standard potting soil with 30% perlite to ensure excellent drainage.
science
Fertiliser
Apply a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer once every 2–3 months during the growing season only (spring and early summer). Do not fertilize in fall or winter.
thermometer
Temperature
Thrives in standard room temperatures between 65–75°F (18–24°C). Avoid exposure to cold below 60°F (15°C) and keep away from temperature fluctuations.
