Scindapsus pictus

houseplant

Scindapsus Pictus, commonly called Satin Pothos, is an attractive trailing houseplant featuring heart-shaped leaves with distinctive silver or white markings on deep green foliage. This climbing vine grows moderately and adapts well to various indoor light conditions, making it popular for hanging baskets, shelves, and moss poles. It is easy to care for and more compact than regular Pothos, with slower growth.

Care Guide

light_mode
Light
Bright, indirect light for 6–8 hours daily. Tolerates medium to low light but variegation is best in brighter conditions. Avoid direct harsh sun, which can scorch leaves.
water_drop
Water
Water when top inch of soil is dry, typically every 1–2 weeks. Reduce frequency in winter. Ensure soil drains well; overwatering causes root rot more readily than underwatering.
compost
Soil
Rich, well-draining potting mix. Use general-purpose houseplant soil or mix in perlite for improved drainage.
science
Fertiliser
Feed monthly with diluted liquid fertilizer during spring and summer. Reduce or skip feeding in autumn and winter.
thermometer
Temperature
Thrives in 65–80°F (18–27°C). Avoid temperatures below 60°F (15°C) and cold drafts. Prefers warm, stable conditions.
humidity_percentage
Humidity
Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%). Mist foliage regularly or place near a humidifier. Benefits from warm, humid air.
