Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the root zone of plants, slowly and consistently. It uses less water than sprinklers, prevents leaf diseases caused by overhead watering, and can be automated so your garden waters itself.

Most plants do best with 2–3 watering sessions per week in summer, 15–30 minutes each. Adjust based on rainfall — most modern timers have rain delay features.

Drip irrigation works well for balcony containers and raised beds. Use 1–2 emitters per large container, 1 for small pots.
